Chaverim Basenjis started in 2009, in Tucson, Arizona, with a fascination for this ancient breed.  We also got to develop a closer relationship with our first basenji Medjai who we got while living in Colorado back in 2007 and who taught us that basenjis are some of the best companions you’ll ever have.

As a member of the Basenji Club of America, we enjoy educating people about basenjis, and all dogs in general. We especially like assisting dog owners of any breed in Mesa, AZ and the rest of the Phoenix area with advice on positive training, finding responsible breeders, health concerns to watch for, and dietary recommendations. At our home, health matters. Whether getting a dog from us or elsewhere, please ensure your dog has basic and needed health checks to provide them with the best life possible.
